AGH UST as partner in the Papaya Young Creators film contest

The AGH UST has become the main partner of the ninth edition of the international film contest: Papaya Young Creators 2022. The initiative is intended for young and creative people who want to enter the world of professional audiovisual expression. The competition, initiated in 2014 (earlier as Papaya Young Directors), is organised by Papaya Films – the largest production house in Poland.

Young creators are tasked with developing a film idea based on the so-called creative starters – documents in which partner brand representatives indicate what they would like to see in their publicity videos. The contest has attracted the interest of the largest world brands. This year, the following companies/brands have prepared their creative tasks for the participants: Porsche, TikTok, DPD, Philips, Amica, Onet, Żabka, and others.

The competition is organised in five categories, and our university has submitted its creative starters in two of them:

  • Branded Stories – this category is about creating a film idea for a publicity video based on the provided starter and, subsequently – realising the film with an allocated budget and mentoring support.
  • TikTok Branded Stories – the form into which the participants have to squeeze in the idea has certain limits: it has to have sound, be in vertical position, and feature interactive effects. All this is to fit best into the media space of TikTok.

The competition is intended for creators between 20 and 35 years of age (i.e. born between 1987 and 2002).

The finalists will receive financial support to realise their projects, as well as the aforementioned mentoring help.

To participate in the contest, you must log into the participant panel at www.papayayoungcreators.com and submit your creative film idea until February 28, 2022.
