By decision of the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, Dr Tomasz Masłyk has been appointed to the Council of the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS). The official presentation of the nominations by the Head of the Chancellery of the PM, Jan Grabiec, took place on 18 July in Warsaw.

The Council shall comprise seven scholars selected from groups presented by scientific councils of institutions which carry out activities on the verge of sociology, applied social sciences, social and political studies as well as by Polish scientific associations of sociologists.

The Foundation of the Public Opinion Research Center is a specialised entity conducting public opinion polls representative of the Polish society concerning opinions on any important socio-political and economic matters. Since the early 90., CBOS has carried out overview research on a regular basis. The results are available to all interested. The Council of the Public Opinion Research Center monitors the plans for and the quality of research.
