The AGH University of Krakow has shown its true potential in terms of ground-breaking defence technologies and technological support of companies at the 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO). It is one of the largest such events in Europe, attracting representatives of the military, science, and defence sector from Poland and abroad. It was the first time that the AGH University participated in the event.
The AGH University team held talks on cooperation with multiple institutions and companies, such as the Military Institute of Armament Technology, Military Institute of Engineering Technology, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, WB Electronics, and MEGMAR. Our university's stand was visited by representatives of the Polish military and a plethora of Polish and foreign companies. What particularly sparked their interest were the GPS interference detection system, image recognition and hyperspectral detection systems, castings from super lightweight and robust magnesium alloys, water treatment systems, and germicidal materials for the protection of shelters and field hospitals, and a robot demonstrating modern metalworking.
The International Defence Industry Exhibition is the perfect place for the Krakow DIANA Accelerator to mark its input in defence and security. The Rector’s Proxy for NATO DIANA, the Director of the AGH University Cybersecurity Centre, Izabela Albrycht, met with key players in the Polish dual-use ecosystem, from central authorities to industry, early stage companies, and academia. She spoke to innovators and representatives of companies from the field of Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT). The topics of their meetings were the challenges of R&D projects, paths for the development of companies, and current experiences in creating innovative products in Poland.
