AGH Solar Boat on the podium of Monaco Energy Boat Challenge

The AGH Solar Boat Student Research Club came in third in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. The AGH University boat, Celka, turned out to be extremely resilient and fast.

Organised on 1-6 July, the international competition has seen 46 teams from 40 universities. Celka and members of the AGH Solar Boat Research Club competed in a few challenges. The team took second place in the Endurance Race, during which the AGH University-built boat proved its reliability and efficiency, as in 2 hours and 45 minutes it was able to cover a distance of 21 miles, so 39 kilometres. In the Championship Race category, Celka and its helmsman won three our of 4 races. These results translated into the AGH University team's third position in the general classification of solar boats. Our boat also performed well in Slalom and Speed races.

What is more, AGH Solar Boat’s Michał Zawisza was first in the E-Sport category.

The AGH Solar Boat Club’s supervisors are Dr Krzysztof Sornek and Wojciech Sajdak, MSc Eng.
