Dr Paweł Gajda, a nuclear energy expert from the Faculty of Energy and Fuels, will assume the position of Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy in the Ministry of Industry beginning October.
Dr Gajda is a renown expert in the field of nuclear energy, AGH University lecturer, President of the Polish Nuclear Society, and Vice-President of the European Nuclear Society. He works in the Department of Nuclear Energy and Radiochemistry at the Faculty of Energy and Fuels.
His research encompasses reactor physics, technologies of new generation reactors, and the role of nuclear energy in low-emission energy systems He participated in multiple international research projects in the field of reactor technologies, especially Accelerator Driven Systems (ADS). He participated in fellowships and courses organised by the Nuclear Technology and Education Center JAEA, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Saclay Nuclear Research Centre CEA, and Framatome.
He is a co-founder of Nuclear PL, a company providing technical consultancy services to the nuclear power sector. He is also engaged in the dissemination of knowledge in the field of climate and energy, in particular of nuclear energy.
