AGH UST begins cooperation with Bayer’s Digital Hub

The Bayer company and its Digital Hub offer students the possibility to gain experience and jobs in international teams in areas such as data science, software engineering, IT security engineering, full stack engineering, and data engineering. The Digital Hub provides a flexible work schedule, allowing students to combine studying at a university with acquiring professional experience, making competitive salaries, and participating in individual mentoring and training programmes.

The programme that will launch in 2022 is intended for students in the final years of engineering and master’s degrees. The first group of students to join the programme will start their internships in March, the next one in October. A 5-month professional-instructional module has been prepared for several dozen interns. After completion of the programme, the most prominent students will receive job offers.

‘Cooperation of the AGH UST with such an important partner in the field of life science and health protection is a great honour and a challenge for us. We will primarily carry out joint R&D projects. Furthermore, we are concerned with developing student programmes in the discipline of information technologies. I am also convinced that we can be of mutual service to each other in terms of expert support. The agreement will be coordinated on our part by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering; thus, in particular, the solutions in biomedical engineering can prove to be both interesting and prospective for us and our partner, the Bayer company’, emphasises Professor Jerzy Lis, the AGH UST Rector.

Bayer has already been developing innovation in life science in cooperation with leading technical universities in the world, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This group, in addition to the AGH UST, has recently expanded to include the Silesian University of Technology.
