The AGH University Rector, Professor Jerzy Lis, and university authorities ask the academic community to support initiatives aimed at helping people and regions affected by flood. The effects of the disaster that hit the southern Poland require solidarity and joint efforts for the reconstruction.
“In this demanding time, let us show support and not be indifferent to the people who have been affected by this natural disaster and are currently in dire need of our help,” said the AGH University Rector, Professor Jerzy Lis.
AGH University students and doctoral students from areas affected by flood may apply for aid available to people in a difficult life situation. More information in the Student Affairs Department. Pursuant to the recommendation of the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek, arising from the letter to the rectors of Polish universities, requests made by students from flooded areas will be dealt with immediately to ensure that members of the community in need are assisted as quickly as possible.
At present, it is essential to provide emergency assistance to the inhabitants of the flooded areas, particularly of the Lower Silesia, Opole, and Silesia. In many places, there is no electricity, gas, and access to drinking water. We highly encourage you to support fundraisers for flood victims.
