An agreement on cooperation on the organisation of the Artificial Intelligence Forum (AI Forum) in Karpacz, Poland was entered into on the 18th of June in Warsaw. It is going to be one of the most significant parts of this year’s Economic Forum, gathering renowned experts in artificial intelligence. The letter of intent was signed by: The Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs, AGH University of Krakow, Cracow University of Technology, Poznan University of Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, University of Warsaw, and Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies – organiser of the Economic Forum in Karpacz.
The Forum is aimed to touch upon the most important issues concerning the ever-developing AI, both as regards the public sector as well as the commercial ones. What will also be under discussion are the problems and challenges the market will be pushed to face in view of the fundamental AI-based technological change. Participants of the AI Forum will consider to what extent the investments in research and novel AI technologies in various areas of life may allow the EU to ensure security and rebuild competitiveness in relation to world economies.

As part of the activity of the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, one of our research and education units, we conduct research, development, and implementation activities, as well as provide education, and spread knowledge in the field of AI. We truly hope that the expertise of our staff will contribute to the development of the AI Forum, thereby enriching it in terms of the technology-driven subject matter,” Professor Jerzy Lis, AGH University Rector, said.

The Economic Forum in Karpacz is the largest such an event in the Central-Eastern Europe to discuss security, perspectives of the economic growth, modern challenges and overcoming crises, and present specific solutions and innovative ideas. The event shall also address the fields of new technologies, digitisation, AI, and cybersecurity. Each year, the Forum is attended by political, economic, and social leaders from all over the world.
The 31st Economic Forum in Karpacz takes place on 3-5 September 2024 and will concern the shaping of the future together in the time of new leaders.
