The Space Technology Centre, AGH Space Systems, and SpaceTeam AGH participate in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris. The AGH UST participates in the event as a UNIVERSEH project partner. The participation of student research clubs is possible thanks to the invitation extended by the Polish Space Agency (POLSA).
The POLSA booth features AGH Space Systems’ Kalman – a Martian rover, this year’s winner of the European Rover Challenge. Moreover, SpaceTeam AGH showcases its device for regolith transport – TOLRECON, which came 2nd in the Over the Dusty Moon Challenge 2022 in Colorado, USA.
The creations of our students attract the attention of space agencies and technological companies. The AGH UST students have already received internship offers and scholarship proposals. They also had the opportunity to talk to astronauts, space agencies specialists in robotics, propulsion systems, and navigation, as well as space mining.
Participation in the congress facilitates the establishment of connections that may turn in the future into fruitful cooperation with international space agencies, entrepreneurships, and other universities.
The organiser of the IAC is the International Astronautical Federation. Among nearly 9,000 delegates from around the world, the CEOs of the following space agencies made an appearance: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), as well as astronauts and presidents of the largest technological companies in the world, such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Ariane Space.
The 73rd International Astronautical Congress takes place between September 18 and 22, 2022, with the motto Space for @ll.
