The Jagiellonian University and Ludomedia invite to the 9th World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR2025), held from 4 to 6 February 2025 at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and from 11 to 13 February 2025 online. As platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of qualitative research, the event will gather researchers and research teamts from more than 40 countries.

The World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR) is an annual event that aims to bring together researchers, academics and professionals, promoting the sharing and discussion of knowledge, new perspectives, experiences and innovations in the field of Qualitative Research. The conference will make for an excellent opportunity to discuss the application of qualitative research in various areas such as education, health, social sciences, engineering, and technology. The growing interest in the conference highlights its key role in the development of qualitative research methodology and practice worldwide.

Among the invited guests are prominent figures who will share their latest developments and perspectives on the future of qualitative research.

Organisers of the event encourage to submit abstracts and actively participate in discussions, workshops, and plenary sessions. The topics of the conference concern the following areas:

  • Qualitative Research in Health (Medicine, Nursing, Geriatrics, Gerontology, Psychology, etc.).
  • Qualitative Research in Education (Higher Education, Basic Education, Assessment, Curriculum, Teaching, Teaching Science, Languages, History, Technology, etc.).
  • Qualitative Research in Social Science (Administration, Anthropology, Arts, Political Science, Communication, Economics, Management, Humanities, Linguistics, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, etc.).
  • Qualitative Research in Engineering and Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Engineering Education).
  • Qualitative Research in Business (Administration, Economics, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, etc.)

As the subject matter of the conference is related to qualitative research, the presentations should focused on the methodology of said research and on the analysis of the relation between research questions, theories, and results obtained due to the methodology applied.

The abstracts should fall into one of the categories below:

  • Research Foundations and Paradigms of Qualitative Research
  • Approaches and Methodologies in Qualitative Studies
  • Qualitative Research in Digital and Web Contexts
  • Data Analysis Approaches, Processes and Techniques
  • AI-driven technologies in Qualitative Research and Data Analysis

Abstracts and panel submissions will be accepted until 27 September 2024.

Substantive partners of the event are the Polish Sociological Association and the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
