AGH Space Systems' lift-off in rocket engineering competition in the USA

Prior to the rocket launch, necessary safety procedures and preparations were carried out, including technical inspections and structural strength assessments. The team also had to demonstrate their knowledge of safety regulations while being present at Spaceport America. 

Subsequently, during the Poster Session, each team presented their rocket and technical poster to other participants and judges. This was an important stage as points awarded during this session counted towards the final rankings. Before the launch, a Final Review was conducted, which involved a final technical evaluation of the rocket. Upon receiving approval from the judges, the rocket could be transported to the designated area, the Vertical Launch Area, where rocket launches take place.   

Obviously, the final score of each team also included points related to the flight itself: when the rocket reached the launch pad, the accuracy of achieving the target altitude, collecting all necessary data during the flight, and the process of recovering the rocket. 

The AGH Space Systems team is awaiting the announcement of the results (currently, only the teams that secured first and second place in each category are known).

A total of 158 teams from 24 countries participated in the competition. Besides the AGH University, Poland was represented by teams from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology, and Poznan University of Technology.   

Spaceport America Cup 2023 took place between 19th and 24th June 2023 in Las Cruces, USA.
