AGH University Rector’s inauguration wishes

Ladies and gentlemen, 

Today, we commence a new academic year, 105th one in our history, which promises to be more laborious than the previous one, as we are aware of the sheer number of duties and challenges awaiting us. This is another period of intense didactic work and creative scientific activity, and for the students – of tenacious learning. 

On this very occasion, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to AGH University employees, students, and doctoral students for the difficult last year. Thank you for Your commitment, support, and willingness to build a strong AGH University brand. I believe that thanks to You and Your work we can pursue more goals together. 

The war across the eastern border continues and is now even more dangerous. However, I hope that it will not influence us as much as in the previous year – on various levels, both social and economic. 

Although we are to act in arduous times, and may be owing to that, we are determined to dynamically grow as a university, while simultaneously undertaking a mission on creating and transferring values. 

We currently face new challenges arising from the revolutionary technological and institutional changes occurring all around us. Therefore, the AGH University actions must be directed at, above all, the internal development and nurturing strengths in order to build an increasingly better national and international position. 

We begin the year of implementing a new, ambitious AGH University Strategy and I am convinced that we will not have to wait for long for its positive results  

Now, we are accepting new students into the world of academia. They will gain knowledge and experience in the AGH University walls to continue their service to the public in the future. Let us help them prepare in the best possible way for the tasks ahead of them. 

But let us remember that we create this unique and incredible AGH UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY together. It is together that we work, have fun, experience successes and failures, and overcome difficulties.
