During the 145th session of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Jerzy Lis, the AGH UST Rector, and Professor Andrzej Jajszczk were appointed Ordinary Members of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The body of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) comprises Polish members: ordinary and corresponding, and foreign members.
The General Assembly is the most important authority of the Academy. It is composed of all Polish members of PAN, prominent scientists who chart out the directions of development and activity of this institution.
The members of PAN are appointed by the General Assembly from those researchers who distinguish themselves with exceptional academic achievement and are authority figures in the scientific community, as well as enjoy a good reputation.
The 145th session of the General Assembly of PAN took place between December 2 and 3, 2021. In a postal vote, ordinary and corresponding members, as well as the members of the Polish Young Academy were selected.
