The Polish National Science Centre has just announced its 2nd MINIATURA 8 list and one of our researchers is to receive a grant. It is no other than Dr Dominik Grochala from the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics, and Communications.
The scholar shall obtain PLN 49,500 for preliminary/pilot studies concerning the influence of a temperature profile on the detection abilities of SPR sensors.
MINIATURA is a grant for scholars with a PhD degree working in Polish science institutions. They may apply for funds of PLN 5,000 to 50,000 to finance a research activity to be carried out over a period of up to 12 months. The research activity may be carried out in the form of preliminary/pilot studies, library and archive searches, fellowships, research visits and/or consultations.
The main objective of the grant is to finance research activities by researchers who have not had any previous experience in managing research projects on their own. Carrying out an activity within MINIATURA 8 is supposed to help in the preparation of research objectives for a project, for the funding of which researchers will be able to apply in the National Science Centre’s calls, as well as other national and international competitions.
The second ranking list includes 53 activities with the total value of PLN 2,024,930.
