Streszczenie
Development of metals and alloys for modern applications has to include precise control of the microstructure and texture, especially if plasticity is involved either in the production process or during the intended operating conditions. With the recent developments in the CMOS detector technology, fast EBSD-based microstructure and texture data acquisition is becoming increasingly available to the wider scientific community. During this seminar I will give a brief introduction of the analysis of EBSD datasets, after which I will proceed to report on previous and ongoing microstructure and texture based investigations. One example will involve the investigation of microstructural effects of strain path change deformation through the accumulative angular drawing of titanium alloy for aerospace applications. The second example will consider severe plastic deformation approach to optimization of microstructure and mechanical behavior of zinc alloy for the intended application in bioresorbable implants.
